Sometimes children need extra support to help them learn, make friends and grow into confident individuals.

Nurture groups are a form of intervention for children who may have difficulty accessing their learning due to emotional, social or behavioural problems. Our Nurture Hub provides additional support, within a small group setting, to help our children be successful learners.

This is done through carefully structured play and practical activities revolving around speaking, listening, cooperation, sharing and feelings, coupled with curriculum learning linked to the main class.

Within the nurturing environment, the child develops trusting relationships with adults and can be supported to engage well with their peers, develop self-confidence and self-esteem, and feel secure about themselves. This allows them to take responsibility and exercise independence, which in turn develops self-motivation and a sense of well-being.

Emotional well- being underpins learning. Our Nurture Hub provides a supportive and nurturing environment where children can;

Improve self-confidence`

Raise self esteem

Increase their enjoyment of learning

Experience good relationships

Develop concentration

Children remain members of their own classes, attending Nurture for 4 half day sessions per week, up to 4 terms.
